In a Fear-Storm? Getting Out Is As Easy as 1-2-3!
When you are creating success, you’re going to encounter “internal” fears – modern day ‘What If?’ fears. You may even enter a fear-storm, where everything rushes in with the intention of stopping you dead in your tracks! (Isn’t it great that the ego wants to keep us tucked away in our comfort zone – not wanting us to experience the the bliss of success?)
Everyone experiences a fear-storm from time-to-time. EVERYONE! As a matter of fact, I had a bit of a fear-storm yesterday. A friend of mine – a very successful marketing expert – had a fear-storm the day before. Surely Bill Gates, Wayne Dyer and President Obama have their fear-storms. How you handle it will either help you climb to your peak or Keep you stay stuck in the valley.
This fear-storm doesn’t need to become a typhoon. It’s what you do with it that is the key. What’s going on that created this fear-storm? How are you going to step out of it? Do you want to rock the ego boat enough to walk through the fear-storm – weathered but wiser?
I tell clients all the time that, if they want to overcome what is holding them back they have to DO THE WORK and go right throught the middle of the challenge. Dancing along the edges will never get you to the other side! So, how do you get to the other side of the fear-storm?
It’s as Easy as 1-2-3. Here’s how!
1. Recognize that you’re in a fear-storm! Denial will only keep you in it longer. Ask youself What brought this on? Listen to yourself and honor this place – you’re not going to be here for long.
2. Recover. When the fear-storm knocks you down, be ready to get back on your feet! KEY – You need to get out of your head. Talk it out with someone you trust ( a mentor, coach or friend) and that is a true friend! Your true friends will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. They’ll call you on it. Accept it and learn from it.
3. Revive your idea ( your goals, your initial intentions) and run with it! You wouldn’t have entered the fear-storm if your idea wasn’t right on!See, when you get doubt and fear out of your head you can move from the comfort zone, leaving the ordinary behind to create your Extraordinary idea!
Now, how do you feel? Are you feeling more confident about going through the fear-storm? Remember, you’re not alone. All successful people have them and use the fear-storm to propel them forward rather than “sink their ship”.

Wouldn’t you agree that life is too short to not be doing what you LOVE! Here’s to Uncovering your Soul-Purpose and Turning Your Unique Talents into GOLD!
What Makes an Extraordinary Life?
So, what does make an extraordinary life? Is it the kind of work you do? Could be. Is it how much money you make? Maybe. Is it the kind of clothes you wear or the type of house you live in? Perhaps.
As I move through this life - and walk with others on their jouney – what I find that makes an extraordinary life is that – IT YOURS! It’s your life to do with whatever floats your boat! I know I write a lot about choice and that how you choose to move through your life is really up to you.
From a young age I knew that I was uniquely different. I knew things that other kids my age didn’t. Did that set me apart from the rest of the crowd. Yes and no. It wasn’t until I was much older that I found out how great it was to be unique, different and extraordinary. It wasn’t until I was older that I looked back on my younger years, grateful for the life experience and glad I don’t have to do it again, and discovered that being Extraordianry was my choice. I love being that soul-surfer, riding the waves of life. Fall much? Oh yeah, but getting right back up and trying something new was half the fun.
Today, I did extrarodinary! I ran 5 miles. What’s extraordinary about that? I decided to run my first half-marathon – at 47. I’m training for the run in April. Kinda cool.
I went for a walk with my kids and there friends. What’s extraordinary about that? We went to the beach, with the dog, and explored! We found some lobster-like thing ( we really don’t know what it was). We discovered that none of us could do a polar bear plunge because the water is just toooooooo cold. And that kids will try anything – even crossing the lazy river when it’s 40 degrees. (They did a half polar bear plunge and didn’t realize it.)
See, anything you do can be EXTRAORDINARY! It’s all in how you look at it. So, go out and Take Life from ordinary to Extraordinary.
When you get an idea, try it. See where it takes you. What path will you go down? When you follow your heart and your soul you can make the ordinary things in your life become extraordinary.
The Prosperity Mindset

-
Visualize what you truly WANT! In bright shining detail. What does your business look like? Who are your ideal clients? What is the “feel” you want your business to have? How much money do you want to make in the next 6 months, in the next year?
-
Visualize being handed the BIG check. You’re mind does not know the difference between what is in front of you and what is imagined ( what’s behind your eyes). When you visialize in clear detail, your mind “sees” and “feels” the image as if it was really happening.
-
Visualize your ideal clients, excited, motivated and lining up to work with you.
-
Start to connect with and create clarity on your Soul-Purpose.
-
Explore your unique gifts and talents. When you are passionate about what you love to, you will make money!
-
Know and feel that it is time to “Think BIG”.
-
Clear any fear or limiting beliefs around abundance and prosperity.
The 3 Keys to Recognizing Your Imbalance – and the 4 Solutions to Get You Back on Track.
Today I walked instead of doing my ususal exercise. See, I have been feeling under the weather and have not had the same energy for running or biking. This made me realize that I needed to connect with myself and the imbalance that has been going on.
Let me ask you these questions:
- Do you love what you do?
- Are you always on the go because you have fun doing it?
- Do you forget to check in with yourself when you feel …just a bit tired?
I love what I do and can get “carried away” writing, creating programs, running teleclasses and marketing my business. It’s fun for me! I give myself time every morning to exercise. I also love connecting to people, so I do that in whatever way I can; talking on the phone, social media, connecting and writing on groups…you name it. It’s fun for me!
I have two very spirited children. I take my daughter to school functions, to friend’s houses, shopping ( and I don’t love shopping.) I take my son to his ‘things’; game tournaments, friend’s houses, and other boy things. It’s fun for me!
So, I have said “it’s fun for me” a few times. And I genuinely mean it. It’s what takes my life from ordinary to Extraordinary. But when I came down with a cold a couple of weeks ago…and still hanging onto something…the flag went up. See, I usually always feel good! I generally have great energy to do all the things I love to do. RED FLAG when I got tired going from the car into the house. UAGH! I know this stuff, how did I “let myself” get run down?
Time to find the imbalance. This lead me to the 3 Keys of Recognizing when you are OUT OF BALANCE…and the 4 Solutions to Get You Back ON Track. Ready to find out The 3 Keys to Recognizing Imbalance?
- You just do not feel like you’re in the flow. The usual activities don’t seem easy. Nothing seems to fall into place.
- You feel mentally scattered and just can’t seem to connect the dots.
- You physically DON’T feel well.
When you STOP long enough to notice these three keys to feeling burned out and out of balance, you can then do something to get back to your normal energy and usual Extraordianry self. Now, let me tell you The 4 Solutions to Get You Back On Track.
- Be Aware! Notice when you are not feeling yourself. DON’T BLOW IT OFF! This is the signal that something is up and needs to be taken care of.
- Explore why you are “off”. It is so easy to get carries away, but know yourself well enough to answer this questions – truthfully and realistically.
- Course Correct. Be willing to see where you now and when you started to feel off course, then think of ways to course correct that work for YOU.
- Take Inspired Action. Now that you have discovered the ways to get you back on track – DO IT! Take the inspired action you need to take by listening to your inner voice and make the choices that will get back on track.
Even though I didn’t feel my usual self, I’m glad I walked. It gave me the change to really connect with myself, what set’s off the imbalance and how to get back on track. And…I put something together that hopefully helps you when you are feeling “off”.
Here’s to your balance and Extraordinary self!

Your Life IS Your Adventure
We are all on a journey in this lifetime. It’s what we choose along our path that creates our adventure.
Have you been busy letting life happen around you rather than making your life happen? We all do it. We get involved in our routines, get very comfortable and let our lives go on autopilot.
What happens one day when you wake up and realize that all those plans, dreams and adventures you wanted to do in your life never happened? What will that feel like?
We all have our responsibilities, those important tasks that we want to do. What do these tasks feel like for you? Mundane, routine, a “should” or a “have-to”? We have careers we enjoy. We love and raise our families. We take care of friends and family in need. These important responsibilities can be part of your adventure. It’s all in how adventurous you get in creating your life.
Here’s an example of seeing your life as an adventure. My Aunt (shout out to you!!) has been on many life adventures. She’s a school teacher and has a ‘regular” life, but she see’s things differently than many people. She has travelled, met new and interesting people, stretched her comfort zone to try new things. As a matter of fact we were talking about her next adventure today. My Aunt has MS. At times she becomes very tired and can’t quite jump on her bike or hike a mountain, but adventure is what you make of it. One day she may have an adventure in her garden, reconnecting with her passion and simply enjoying being right where she is.
What does your adventure look like?
1. Describe your life as you see it today. Put in every detail, how you feel, what you do, who you communicate with.
2. Now close your eyes, take a breath and go deep inside, into your core being. Describe your True Self ( your Essence), from your core. What do you see? What are your desires and passions. This is WHO you are.
3. Next, look at your two descriptions. What are the differences? What are the similarities? What strengths do you see? What desires and passions come up?
4. Using what you just discovered – create your vision of your life adventure. In what ways can you combine what you discovered in step #1, 2 and 3.
5. Be creative – don’t filter anything, this is for your eyes and your life only.
6. Your Action – What ONE thing can you start with today that will move you into your life adventure?
As Mr. Magorium said “Your Life Is An Occasion ~ Rise To It!”
Mosh Pit Mom – Lessons in Going with the Flow!
Last Thursday, during school break, I took my daughter and 2 of her friends to a New Found Glory Concert. It was their first concert – aside from Hannah Montana at age 11. As I explained to them, this is the place where bands play that haven’t hit “the BIG time” yet.
We were at the Filmore @ Irving Place. Okay, I may be showing my age, but I have not been to a venue like that since I was in college. The Filmore is a ballroom – no seats – standing room only! I befriended Jerome - the lead man at the door. I think he felt sorry for the mom that was staying with the girls at the concert. ( Apparently, mom’s drop of their young teens to see a concert! Not this mom!) We entered behind the “velvet rope” and began the night of the girls dreams. We were at the stage – literally 5 feet away from the performers. Now, I am the coolest mom in the world because I had “pull”.
The girls were in their glory as the first band started to play. The crowd was not full yet, so it was manageable. There was a lot of movin’ with the music and a few crowd surfers. First band finishes – what fun!
Next – ahhhhhh, to the girl’s surprise HELLOGOODBYE was part of the line-up. Screaming girls and lit-up smiles! They took pictures, videos and even got a few smiles from the performers! What a night!
Then, Saves the Day came on stage and – obviously – the crowd loves ‘em. The light and easy crowd got more excited…and started closing in on the stage, hoping to get as close as possible. (Because it wasn’t loud enough already – getting closer would make the sound better) Now, the mosh pit. Crowd surfing begins! If you moved with the flow of the crowd, you swayed to the music. If you tried to “fight” the crowd, you quickly were out of the flow, knocked down and not having fun.
When you are in a room full of the closest friends you’ve never met, it’s so much more fun to be in the flow. The music sounds better, you notice people laughing and having a good time and things seem to go “right”.
So, we were in the flow. The girls had a blast. When the crowd got to be a little too much, instead of fighting it and staying at the front of the stage, we moved out into the lobby. We let the flow of people move us out. With that, the girls went to buy their concert t-shirts. While at the table buying their wears and having fun with the people selling for Hellogoodbye – Andy walks over to the table. Andy is the guitar, ukalele and mandolin player. The girls realized who it was and immediatete go over to him – no shyness with these girls. They were the only ones to notice and take action. They got their pictures taken with him, he signed their t-shirts, playlists, water bottles and anything else they got from the concert. They were in heaven! On cloud nine, they didn’t even mind leaving the concert early without seeing the headliner. This was the best night EVER!
See, when you are in the flow, in the mosh pit or just in life, if you move with the moments and enjoy where you are and where the flow takes you – unexpected, exciting and Extraordinary things can happen. That night, the girls lives went from ordinary to Extraordinary in one breath!
Oh, and the song that played was the fave – HERE ( in your arms) by Hellogoodbye. Everything happens for a reason!
UUGGHHH! Be careful what you “wish for?”!
UUgghh! I came down with a nasty cold over the weekend. Granted my kids have had it over the course of 2 weeks. But, I usually don’t get it - because I don’t want it, nor do I need it.
So, what brought this about? Looks like I “wished” for some down-time. Honestly, I have been doing things like a crazy woman. Not that I have not loved every minute of what I have been doing. I have started training for a half marathon ( MORE magazine – I hope to see you there! ) and my first duathlon, writing articles, preparing presentations and I have been creating fun, inspiring and Extraordinary coaching programs. What is the missing piece?
Though I love every minute of what I do, and it may seem like my training, etc is for me and my dream, I have not given myself the loving care and attention that I usually give myself- and tell all of you to do!
So, this is short ( because I feel nasty!) but a lesson on self-care. Do it every day – even when you are doing what you love – SLOW DOWN! REGROUP! Meditate, re-energize and give yourself the peace, clearing and down time you need to Re-Juvinate and stay well! Afterall, what you love to do and WHO you are deserves it!!!
The Love Affair
Today, I’m not going to write about integrity, leadership, or a way to create a prosperous business. It’s time to talk about having a love affair!
You can achieve everything you dream of ~ when you have passion. The love affair that we hold on to, the one with ourselves – our ideas – and the things that touch our heart and move us, is the love affair I am talking about. Yes, you are hearing more and more about being in harmony with the Universe. Being guided by a force that is stronger than our heads ( our minds ) - which, by the way, tries to talk us out of living our passion and doing exactly what out heart desires.
It’s Valentine’s weekend. You may be spending precious moments with your loved one, but the most precious of all moments is the love the affair you have with YOU – and your dreams and passions.
Everything happens for a reason. When these moments happen, the ones when you receive insights and opportunities that seem to come out of no where, know that your love affair with you has given you a hand. See the lightness in your heart and the truth in your being. For you - YOU – are the person that creates your dreams and chooses to live by your deep desires.
Listen to your heart and your soul. What are they telling you? Life is an unbelievable journey. If the old road becomes worn out or turns into a dead end, take a new road. You may not know where it leads, but it’s up to you to try. So when you love and trust YOU, when you honor the serendipity and the synchronicity that comes your way, the love affair takes hold and lasts throughout time.
So, isn’t it time you had a LOVE AFFAIR?
